About Me

Welcome to Inés Namuth. Here's a glimpse into who I am and what I do.

My Journey

I make clothing from upcycled and vintage materials, but the reason I make clothes at all is deeply personal. Sewing has always been a way for me to process where I come from, where I've been, and how I move through the world. As an entirely woman-owned, independent project, every piece is made slowly and intentionally, with care for both the garment and the person who will wear it.

What Drives Me

I come from an international family, with roots in Guatemala on my dad's side and Spain on my mom's. I grew up traveling back and forth between these places, and they shaped how I see beauty. I'm inspired by the warmth, color, and handwork I associate with Guatemala, and by the softness and romance I found in Spain. My grandmother on my mom's side in Spain was an incredible seamstress, and she encouraged me to sew from a young age. Learning beside her taught me patience, attention, and respect for fabric — I will always aspire to be as talented as she was.

My Approach

I didn't go to fashion school. Instead, I spent the first eight years of my education in Waldorf schools, where art, making, and imagination were part of everyday life. That education also emphasized being connected to and respectful of the earth. Those values stayed with me and are a big part of why I work with existing materials and try to make clothing in a way that feels responsible and thoughtful.

My Values

My relationship with clothing has also been shaped by my experiences with eating disorders and body image struggles since I was young. Clothes were never just clothes to me—they were a way to feel safe, to hide, to express myself, or sometimes to feel at odds with my own body. Because of that, I approach design with a lot of sensitivity. I care deeply about how clothes feel on the body and about the emotional weight they can carry.

Looking Forward

Right now, my pieces are only available in XS/S. This isn't because I believe fashion should be exclusive or that bodies should fit into one narrow ideal. It's simply a reflection of my current capacity as one person making everything by hand. Size inclusivity matters to me, and expanding my size range is something I hope to work toward as this project grows.

Let's Connect

This brand is still becoming. It's rooted in heritage, reuse, and care—for materials, for the planet, and for the complicated, real bodies that wear the clothes. My hope is that when you wear one of my pieces, it feels gentle and considered—an heirloom made slowly by another woman, carrying the meaning of the lives the materials lived before, and meant to be kept, worn, and passed on.
